Adoption is GREAT!

Well I am proud to announce that there has been another addition to our family.  We adopted a dog from the Big Fluffy Dog Rescue.   Her name is Abby and she is a 1 year old Border Collie/Great Pyranees mix from Tennessee.  At first I was opposed to adopting from another state, since I wanted Henry to be able to meet her first and make sure she was a good fit, but then they were so responsive and helpful about making sure she would be a good match that I said what the hell.  I just had a good feeling.   And sure enough when she arrived in her trailer, she was perfect.   She was shipped up via Alpha Dog Transport, a wonderful service and she arrived in NH along with 50+ other dogs.  It was amazing the crowd of people waiting to take them home.  Just when you think you are a crazy dog person, you meet many more that put you to shame!!!  People were crying, taking videos and had their extended families there.  It was a definitely a wonderful experience and so thankful to see all of these people wanting to adopt these deserving pups.  Abby has found her new home and has settled right in.  And if for any reason things do not work out as nicely as they did here, the adoption group you choose will gladly find them another home.  

   

Wakefield Ma Real Estate #7!!!

    With all the news saying "no one is going to get a mortgage" and me having to defend the Real Estate market each and every day because of this, I am proud to say Wakefield, Ma Real Estate is #7 in the United States.  This rank was reported by Business Week and then went on to all the local newspapers.  A gentleman from Business Week called me personally for an interview about why Wakefield is doing so well and what draws home owners into our town.  The poll was taken nationally based on the number of days properties spent on the market.  Wakfield was the only town within Massachusetts.  Of course just because compared to other cities Wakefield is doing well, it is still not at the top of its game and naturally prices are still down.  But I consider this a good thing because it gives buyer the good deals they deserve.  As far as the people who are reporting no one is going to get a mortgage than I ask why do I get flyers daily from banks offering very good loan packages???  So yes, the economy is in a slump, but I am trying to do my part to keep my town afloat.

Healthy Dog Pet Co. is a cozy store located in the downtown area of Wakefield, and it is dog friendly to say the least. Owned and operated for 2 1/2 years by Danielle Bently, who will always be there to greet and help you with any of your needs.  You can always find another friendly face behind to desk as well, her pride and joy Neko a Bernese Mountain Dog.  The shop is packed wall-to-wall with everything a dog and its owner could ever want.  And if there is anything they don't have, they will be happy to put it on special order for you.  All of the products offered are chosen due to there hollistic and all-natural ingredients.  Danielle will be happy to assist you in whatever you need including questions and concerns.  If by chance there is not enough of her to go around you can rest assure that anything you purchase will be of the highest quality.  Customer service like this is hard to come by and I am glad to see someone out there takes pride in their work. Real Estate mom

Soooo...

Today I had to get to work extra early just so my dog could be picked up by daycare. Pick up/drop off is a great thing, but I am just pointing out that being a proud dog momma is in fact more difficult than having human children. I mean at least real babies poop in their pants and you won't have to take them out in the rain early in the morning, only to have to pick up their poo...But I love him to death and wouldn't change it for the world. I just wanted to point out that just because I don't have real human babies doesn't mean I am not a hard working real estate mom!!!

Tip of the day in Real Estate:

There are 11 multi- family houses in Wakefield, Ma. If you are lucky enough to have a savings account, this is where you should make your purchase. Now this is not an ideal situation for someone who has no money and is looking for a short cut, but for some it could be quite profitable.

They are ranging in price from $229,000 (unheard of) to $799,000. They are very equally spread. Unit size ranging from 2-6. This could be the ideal situation for some. We all know a rental property is income. If this means you inhabiting one half, you can rent the other half out. And be warned the rental market is good these day. With all the foreclosures and people just not affording to buy right now, there are some really good tenents out there. I know because not only do I work for them, but I am also one of them!!! So you be the judge, buy and co-dwell or simply buy and profit!!!

Out with the OLD and in with the NEW...

As sad as it is to see the Montrose school going, it does leave a big beautiful space for new families to join the Wakefield community. After much specualtion and taking the time to meet with the development expert who is leading this construction, Jeff Rhuda of Symes Associates, I have learned what exactly is to come. Not only is he a developemental genious, but he has proved himself also to be a polished yet personable gentleman. Now through all the speculation I have the right answer.

The demolishion is scheduled to start in early September. Though this may be the most unpleasant time for neighbors, demo will be over in less than 3 weeks. Shortly after, piping for water and sewer will begin. If everything goes as planned sales will begin as early as November, with the homes going up early December and move-in ready May 2009.

The site will be divided into 10 adjacent properties aurrounding a cul-de-sac. Land area will vary from 12,000-20,000 square feet. Home styles will vary, but will all be a minimum of 4 bedrooms. Atleast 2 of the site will be dug for full walk-out, daylight basements. With an early purchase you will be able to customize all of you finishing touches and even choose your model.
